As a group we stand against reductions in safety services without reductions across the board in other departments in the City of Akron. We want current information about the financial status of the City. We want to know what plan the leaders of our city have in order to maintain fully staffed safety services and to implement a policy of fiscal responsibility and accountability.

The mayor has proposed a wage freeze for the administration and non-union employees. The Finance Director can't tell us who much money this will save. In the meantime, we hear the mayor got a new car???

We need people to attend Monday night's City Council meeting. It begins at 7:00pm at City Hall. We also need to attend Ward Meetings and ask questions of our elected officials. Upcoming meetings can be found here. Don't see a meeting scheduled for your ward? Call your councilperson and ask when the next meeting wil be.
